Tensile Testing

Tensile testing evaluates the strength and deformation characteristics of metallic materials. GMETL performs tensile and compression testing using a 1000 kN Universal Testing Machine (UTM) equipped with advanced data acquisition and analysis capability.

Test Scope

Bend & Rebend Testing

Bend testing evaluates ductility, flexibility, and soundness of metallic materials. Rebend testing evaluates the ability of reinforcement steel bars to withstand repeated bending conditions without cracking or failure.

Impact Testing (Charpy)

The Charpy Impact Test determines toughness and impact resistance of materials. GMETL performs testing with ambient, low temperature, and cryogenic capability (up to -196°C) with capacity up to 300 Joules.

Test Scope

Hardness Testing

Hardness testing determines resistance of a material against indentation. GMETL performs testing using Digital Rockwell and Brinell Hardness Testers.

Rockwell Hardness

  • Scales: HRA, HRB, HRC
  • Applications: Steels, Stainless steels, Alloy steels, Hardened components

Brinell Hardness

  • Load range: 250 kg to 3000 kg
  • Applications: Cast Iron, Aluminium Alloys, Copper Alloys, Large Engineering Components
